A travel pillow needs to do one thing well: help you sleep in an upright position. This requirement hold true for both airplane travel and car rides. Granted you may have a little more space in a car than if you’re riding in economy class on a packed flight but we’re going to assume that you’re trying to rest while in a vertical position. So what should your perfect traveling companion deliver? Here are three things, explained in more detail in the travel pillow review page over at A Wider View.
- It needs to ensure that your head does not bob forward or side to side. Not only can this jerk you awake uncomfortably but you may also end up with a nasty nexk strain. (Not nice, these can last for days).
- It needs to be lightweight and potable. After all you are traveling so you don’t want to be bogged down with bulky, heavy luggage. For airline travel in particular you want the pillow to either fold away to a small size or be able to snap onto your hand luggage.
- It needs to support your head and neck without bounce back. The perfect travel pillow will mold to your individual contours evening out any hard edges. The fill consistency should be firm enough to offer support but not so firm that your head bounces around on the surface of the pillow.
The good news is that there has been a whole load of experimentation and innovation in the travel pillow industry. They now come in all sorts of shapes, models and designs and use different fill material (from the classic memory foam to micro beads and buckwheat hulls). So instead of recommending just one “perfect travel pillow” for both car and airplane, I’ll highlight two.
- Travel pillow recommendation 1: The travel sash pillow which is worn across the chest. I am a sideways sleeper so I just love this pillow. As it’s inflatable it’s incredibly portable and light.
- Travel pillow recommendation 2: The Miracle neck rest. This is made from top quality memory form and completely encircles the neck. It’s got a more minimalist design that the travel sash and is also very portable.

During the early days, people were fond of collecting Vintage US Sports Cars, and though there are still some who can afford these luxurious cars, you cannot buy it anywhere; in short, it is hard to find. Nowadays people are going gaga about technology, it all started when the computer was invented, and every year it is evolving, from bulky personal computers, and they were able to invent laptops, notebooks, net books, palm top, mobile pc, and now pc tablets.
